Outreach

Bluffs Food Bank

For many years, we have been involved with the Bluffs Food Bank, of which we are a founding member.

The food bank needs specific items. When you’re shopping, please consider buying baby cereal and biscuits, nutritional cold cereals. Toilet paper is a very necessary item. Visit the Bluffs Food Bank website.

Adult Community Lunch

All adults are welcome to attend our lunch, especially those in need within the wider Birch Cliff community. The lunches run every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. from October until mid-May, run by teams from our parish and our neighbours at St. Aidan’s Anglican Church in the Beach. Guests enjoy homemade soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts, as well as good friends and fellowship. We also offer blood pressure checks and other health and wellness information.

Take-away lunches are available for those worried about respiratory illnesses.

This program is part of our shared ministry with the Beaches Interfaith Outreach Committee (BIOC). We join many other Beaches-area faith communities in fighting against both food insecurity and social isolation.

Men’s Cooking and Support Group

In partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society, St. Nicholas hosts this group at various times during the year. If you have any further questions, call the church office. (On hold during the COVID-19 pandemic.)

The Amazing Christmas Party

Our Amazing Christmas Party takes place in December each year. We partner with Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre to provide a festive afternoon for people in need in our neighbourhood, with tasty desserts, a visit from Santa and hampers with presents for the kids.
