St Nicholas Bazaar - Saturday, November 6, 2010

The Bazaar will be held on November 6, 2010 from noon til 3:00pm

It’s never too early to start thinking about our annual Bazaar. If you are making jam, preserves, chutney, pickles, or relish this summer, perhaps you would make a few extra jars to donate to the Bazaar. Food items have become very popular with our shoppers.

Another popular item is our good quality used jewellery and accessories. Please consider giving any items that you no longer wear to the Accessories Table, they’ll be a big hit! Maybe you are good at knitting, crocheting and sewing. Perhaps you do woodworking, or baking, or maybe you are really good at selling raffle tickets! And it’s a well known fact that St Nick’s has some of the best sandwich makers in all of Birch Cliff! All these talents are needed to make our Bazaar a great success, and we need all our parishioners to help out.
Bazaar Raffle Prizes Also, we are in need of prizes for the Bazaar Raffle, if you are able to provide new items that we could use for prizes, please call the office as soon as possible, as we need to get the tickets printed.

Books for the Book Room

Jewellery and accessories for the Jewellery Table

Hand made crafts for the Country Store

Homemade jam, preserves, pickles for the Country Store

Home baking for the Bake Table

Knitting for the Knitting & Sewing Table

Attic Treasures (good-condition used items)

Handmade items for the Christmas Decorations Table

Basket Raffles (these baskets filled with goodies are organized by each group in the parish)

Make sandwiches and squares for the Tea Room

Sell (and Buy) raffle tickets

See if you have any fancy table cloths, lace, china cups, or Royal Doulton figures that you no longer want.

Help with table set up, and breakdown

Deliver flyers

Volunteer to help on the day (there’s lots to do)

Please speak to any one of the Bazaar Committee for more information, and to volunteer for any of the last 3 jobs listed above, speak to Janet Baron or Betsy Jones.

The funds raised from the Bazaar go directly to the operations of St. Nicholas’ Church. Those who have read our financial statements in the annual Vestry Report will recall that the Bazaar is the major fundraiser for the year and is necessary to help balance our budget.

As well as being an important fundraiser, it is also an opportunity to open our doors to many people from the wider community and welcome them to our church. It’s a lot of fun too.
